Farmlicious read: Farmstead Chef
Within the first two paragraphs, the authors of this book had confessed to "freaking out our parents". I was immediately in love...with the book!
I suppose you could consider this lovely book a "cookbook". There are dozens of recipes within the 245 pages; from haute traditions like Cream of Asparagus Soup and Rhubarb Cordial, all the way to down home favorites like Sloppy Joes and Oven Roasted Potatoes. This book has something for everyone, Vegetarians and Vegans included, with offerings like Vegetarian Nori-wrapped Sushi and Tofu Scramblers.
It is not, however, just a cookbook. There are delightfully written chapters ranging from growing your own Victory Garden, canning and preserving, as well as moral support for the many folks who are living this Homestead life and who are yearning to live the life.
It is wonderfully affordable; I've seen it for $12.00 and under. I got it for $13.64 on Amazon.com.
Enjoy!!
